The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) is funded by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and administered throughout the state of California by the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE). This unique program encourages the use of clean vehicles by providing rebates ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 for the acquisition or leasing of new, eligible vehicles that produce zero emissions, such as electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and fuel cell vehicles.
If you reside in California and buy or lease an eligible vehicle, you can request a CVRP refund. The approval of your application depends on the availability of funds. As CVRP moves closer to running out of funding, applications will be placed on a standby list and are not necessarily guaranteed a rebate. Furthermore, the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project exclusively applies to electric cars that have a starting price below $45,000.
California leads the way in adopting clean vehicles, boasting the highest number of electric cars. This not only benefits the environment but also the economy.
Electric vehicles aid in decreasing the utilization of gasoline and diesel, resulting in diminished air pollution and decreased emissions of greenhouse gases.
California presents various rebate options for qualified zero-emission automobiles, encompassing electric cars, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles. The following outlines the rebate amount for each vehicle category;
Zero-Emission: Battery Electric
- $2,000 to $7,500 rebate
Zero-Emission: Hydrogen Fuel Cell
- $4,500 to $7,500 rebate
Plug-In Hybrid Electric
- $1,000 to $6,500 rebate
Zero-Emission Motorcycles
- $750 rebate
California is taking the lead in the transportation sector's pursuit of a sustainable future. It is spearheading the movement towards zero-emission transportation, offering drivers an extensive range of choices when it comes to eco-friendly vehicles that align with their personal preferences and needs.
There are several vehicles available at Tustin Auto Center that meet the qualifications for the California Vehicle Rebate Project. With rebates up to $7,500, there is no better time to shop for an electric vehicle!
