Orange County Rescue Mission’s Holiday Food Drive

 

TUSTIN, Calif.  (Nov. 5, 2010) – Every night in Orange County, more than 21,000 people sleep without a roof over their head or go to bed hungry without a hot meal.    For the second year, Tustin Auto Center has focused its holiday giving efforts on supporting those less fortunate in our neighborhoods with a food drive benefitting the Orange County Rescue Mission.  Last year, the auto center donated more than 2,000 pounds of food to the Rescue Mission, and has set the bar higher for this holiday season.
 

“More and more of our neighbors are joining the unfortunate ranks of our homeless,” said Mark Parkinson, president, Tustin Auto Center.  “Last year, we were so honored to help collect one ton of food for the Orange County Rescue Mission.  This year, with the help of our community, we hope to donate even more and help make the holidays better for those in need of food and shelter.”
 

Tustin Auto Center is an official drop-off point for the Orange County Rescue Mission through November 30.  Customers and residents can drop food items in bins located at each of the 12 dealerships in the Tustin Auto Center.   Suggested food items include: rice and dry beans, stuffing and dry potatoes, canned fruits and vegetables, dry milk and cereals, baby food and formula, and soups, sauces and pasta.
